Iran indicated Wednesday that a letter from U.S. President Donald Trump to Iranian leaders will be delivered to Tehran through an Arab country.

"The letter has been written but has not yet arrived and will soon be delivered by an Arab country," Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told journalists. Iran and the United States have not had diplomatic relations since 1980.

Meanwhile, Araqchi described the U.N. Security Council meeting on Tehran's nuclear program as a "new and strange process," questioning the "good faith" of the states that initiated the meeting, according to remarks reported by Reuters.
