A man was injured Monday in south Lebanon during a machine gunfire operation on the outskirts of Kfar Kila, according to residents cited by L'Orient Today's correspondent. The injured man was hospitalized and required a blood transfusion at the Marjayoun hospital.
This incident occurred while, despite the truce between Lebanon and Israel, the Israeli army continues to conduct occasional operations in south Lebanon, where it still occupies at least five positions that it deems "strategic."
An Israeli patrol entered Lebanese territory at Abbassieh (Hasbaya) and questioned a farmer working on his land, according to locals. The man was quickly released, and the Israeli soldiers returned south of the Blue Line.
Additionally, Israeli drones continued to fly at low altitudes over several regions, including Anti-Lebanon, in the Bekaa and Baalbeck areas, according to L'Orient Today's correspondent. In the south, a drone flew over Azzieh, south of Sour, broadcasting a threatening message urging the Lebanese army to intervene to prevent Hezbollah from acting in the area, otherwise the Israeli army "will act," according to village residents.
The cease-fire went into effect on Nov. 27, after more than a year of hostilities, including two months of full-scale war between Israel and Hezbollah. However, Israel continues to conduct regular strikes on Lebanese territory, and both parties regularly accuse each other of violating the truce.
