The Israeli army announced Sunday night that it was raising its "operational alert level" around the Gaza Strip after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the country was ready to resume fighting "at any moment."
"After an assessment of the situation, it was decided to raise the operational alert level in the area surrounding the Gaza Strip. There are currently no changes in the instructions from the Home Front Command," said a military statement.
A cease-fire between the Hamas movement and Israel took effect on Jan. 19 in Gaza after more than 15 months of war.
