The Hezbollah leader vowed on Sunday to continue the path set by his predecessor, Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed by Israel, during his funeral near Beirut, attended by tens of thousands of people.
"Hassan Nasrallah remains alive within us," declared Naim Qassem in a televised speech broadcast live on giant screens before the funeral crowd. "We will remain faithful to the entrusted legacy and will continue on this path," he added, as Israeli warplanes flew at low altitude over Beirut.
