A waterspout was seen Thursday off the coast of Batroun-Herri in northern Lebanon, reports our correspondent, as Storm Adam is expected in the country. No injuries or damage have been reported so far.

Waterspouts are the equivalent of tornadoes, which are continental. They are generally less violent and usually last only a few minutes.

A polar storm is expected in Lebanon, with snowfall even at low altitudes, down to 300 meters, mainly in northern Lebanon. Several mountain roads have been closed to traffic, according to the Traffic Management Center (TMC). These include the roads between Ainata and the Cedars, Kfardebian and Hadath Baalbek, Akoura and Hadath Baalbek, Hermel and Sir al-Dennieh, Hermel and Qobeiyat, and Maasser al-Chouf and Kefraya.
