The Lebanese Army announced, in a statement, that it plans to destroy unexploded ordnance in the Qoleiat region, in Akkar in northern Lebanon, on Wednesday between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

According to our correspondent in northern Lebanon, access to this area, which notably houses Renee Mouawad Airport, is restricted by the army any way.

Several Israeli munitions ended up on Lebanese territory without exploding during more than 15 months of confrontations between the Jewish state and Hezbollah, which ended with the cease-fire that came into effect on Nov. 27. While the majority of Israeli bombings took place in southern Lebanon, in the Bekaa, and in the southern suburbs of Beirut, munitions also fell in other parts of the country, including northern Lebanon and Kesrouan.
