The director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva, reiterated, on the sidelines of the World Government Summit held from Feb. 11 to 13 in Dubai, the international organization's willingness to "support Lebanon at this stage, especially after the war." She spoke during a meeting with the former Minister of Economy and Trade, Amin Salam, before the formation of the new government by Nawaf Salam.
Georgieva made similar remarks during an interview with Sky News Arabia, and following a meeting, also in Dubai, with the acting governor of the Banque du Liban (BDL) Wassim Mansouri.
According to a statement from Amin Salam's office relayed by the state-run National News Agency (NNA) on Wednesday, Georgieva also assured that the Fund will support the new government "in implementing the necessary reforms to achieve economic recovery."
