Hezbollah issued a statement on Friday condemning U.S. President Donald Trump's call to relocate Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip to neighboring countries such as Jordan and Egypt, describing it as "a clear expression and embodiment of a racist, abolitionist, and fascist ideology."
"What the enemy failed to achieve during the war will not be granted in peacetime," the party declared, adding that "just as the genocide in Gaza was thwarted, the racist war of displacement will also be defeated."
Hezbollah also urged Arab and Muslim countries to take "practical steps to confront this occupation project." It warned that "any leniency in resisting this plan will pave the way for an organized expulsion of all residents of the West Bank and, later, the complete displacement of Palestinians from the occupied territories."
On Tuesday, during a visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Washington, Trump announced plans for "a long-term takeover" of Gaza by the United States to develop real estate projects there. However, he provided little detail on how his administration intended to displace more than two million Palestinians and establish control over the war-ravaged territory. By Wednesday, following widespread criticism from Palestinians, Arab governments, and world leaders, his administration appeared to backtrack on the proposal. On Friday, Trump stated that his plan for Gaza was "not urgent."
