The Lebanese army, assisted by an intelligence service patrol from the Bekaa, arrested 16 individuals sought by the justice system in Nabi Sheet (east of Baalbeck) for firing in the air during a funeral. They confiscated weapons and ammunition, and continued their search for further arrests, according to L'Orient Today's correspondent in the Bekaa.
The army carried out these arrests during a raid in the village following residents' reports of heavy gunfire in the village of Sara’in, during the funeral of a victim of the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel.
Residents who denounced the uncontrolled spread of weapons stated that these gunfire incidents caused significant material damage, breaking solar panels, and puncturing water and diesel tanks on the rooftops of houses in Nabi Sheet and neighboring villages. A massacre was narrowly avoided, residents highlighted.
