The parliamentary group of the Democratic Gathering, mainly composed of Progressive Socialist Party (PSP) MPs, called on the various political parties in Lebanon on Monday not to "drown" the future head of government under a "multitude of conditions and demands" for forming the government.

This statement was made while media reports indicate progress concerning the governmental draft, which could be ready in the coming hours. These advancements were made despite a series of criticisms, notably on social media, regarding leaked information about the names and composition of Nawaf Salam's team. Among the demands is the Amal-Hezbollah duo's request to retain control of the Ministry of Finance, which has been heavily criticized by anti-Hezbollah factions.

The PSP further insisted on the need to facilitate Salam's task and the government formation process in coordination with the President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, so that they can "face the challenges that await them."

The party also expressed "sharing the vision" of Salam, regarding the presence of "personalities not affiliated with political parties" within his future ministerial team.
