Diplomatic back and forth intensified in recent hours in the Middle East, as attention is focused on the continuation of talks aimed at ensuring the fragile Gaza cease-fire agreement reaches its second phase. Against this backdrop, Donald Trump invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House on Tuesday, Feb. 4. The first visit by a foreign official during the U.S. president’s second term will thus take place under friendly skies, as the two leaders, who last met in July at Trump’s residence in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, have “excellent relations,” according to Trump.
