The Internal Security Forces announced on Monday the arrest in Halba, Akkar in Northern Lebanon, of Lebanese national A.R. born in 1978. He is accused of sexually assaulting a child after giving them drugs.

The arrest took place based on a complaint filed on Jan. 7 by the child's father, who accused the suspect of "molesting his underage son after giving him drug pills."

Following an investigation on the same day, the individual was apprehended after a police ambush. He has been handed over to the competent authorities.
