Three members of the "Eagles of the Whirlwind," the military wing of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party, were killed in southern Lebanon "while confronting Israeli forces," the party said in a statement Sunday morning.
The killed members were identified as Anwar Al-Hissiyan, born on March 10, 2000; Ali Amin, born on August 14, 2005; and Ahmed Darwish, born on January 1, 1996. According to the statement, the three were killed while performing their "national duty" as part of "ongoing resistance efforts on the path to Palestine."
Further details about the clashes or the circumstances of their deaths were not provided.
Although a cease-fire was announced between Hezbollah and Israel on Nov. 27 after almost 13 months of fighting, which intensified during the last two months before the cease-fire, the deal has repeatedly been violated. 21 people have been killed in Israeli strikes in south Lebanon since the cease-fire was implemented.
