Israeli forces bombed the outskirts of the city of Beit Jinn in the western countryside of Damascus on Sunday, according to the state-run Syrian news agency SANA. Seven shells landed in the Tall Harboun area, SANA said, adding that no injuries were reported.

On Saturday, the Israeli army targeted the Ain al-Shaara area, north of Beit Jinn, with an artillery shell that landed in agricultural lands, the agency noted. On Friday, Israel also targeted the surroundings of the Beit Jinn farm and those of Tall Bat al-Warda, near Beit Jinn, with several artillery shells.

After the rise to power at the end of 2024 in Damascus of Islamist Ahmad al-Sharaa, whose coalition of rebels overthrew President Bashar al-Assad, Israel launched hundreds of strikes against Syria. The Israeli army also advanced towards the south of the country and deployed occupying troops in the buffer zone, which separated Israeli and Syrian forces on the Golan Heights, in violation with the U.N. agreement.
