A man was shot dead at dawn Sunday after opening fire on security forces in the area of Israel's embassy in Jordan’s capital, Amman, leaving three security personnel injured, the official news agency reported.
“The Public Security Directorate announced it had dealt with a shooting incident targeting a patrol in the Rabieh area of the capital, Amman, at dawn on Sunday,” the Petra news agency stated.
According to authorities cited by Petra, “A person opened fire on a patrol operating in the area, prompting security forces to respond. The shooter attempted to flee.”
The report added that the man, “pursued and surrounded, began firing at security forces, who applied engagement protocols, resulting in the shooter being killed.”
