The U.S. president's special envoy, Amos Hochstein, has arrived in Beirut to continue negotiations on a cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah.
Last night, MP and Nabih Berri's right-hand man Ali Hassan Khalil told Reuters that Lebanon and Hezbollah had accepted the U.S. proposal for a cease-fire with Israel, while expressing some reservations about the content. “Lebanon presented its comments on the document in a positive atmosphere,” the MP said, declining however to give further details. “All the comments we made underline our strict adherence to U.N. Resolution 1701, with all its provisions.”
