On the evening of Nov. 5, while the country is embroiled in wars in Gaza and Lebanon, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired Defense Minister Yoav Gallant — whose position has always been threatened. Netanyahu cited a breakdown in trust in recent months, and differences in positions. The decision is effective as of Friday when Israel Katz will leave the Foreign Ministry to succeed him.
