The Israeli army announced on Sunday that it had captured a "Hezbollah terrorist" who was hiding in a tunnel in South Lebanon, according to statement it posted on X.

"During an operation in southern Lebanon, a tunnel was located beneath a building leading to a living area for terrorists," the army wrote. Soldiers surrounded the building and explored the tunnel, leading to an "underground complex located about seven meters deep."

The underground space was approximately 50 square meters in size. A member of Hezbollah "was there, along with weapons and supplies for an extended stay." This fighter "surrendered and was arrested." The Israeli army "interrogated him on-site and then took him to a detention center" in Israel.
