BEIRUT — Israeli strikes across Lebanon on Saturday killed 23 people, according to the latest Lebanese Health Ministry figures. A further 93 people were injured.
The casualties are distributed as follows between the various governorates:
- Bekaa: three killed and nine injured.
- Baalbeck-Hermel: two injured.
- South Lebanon: five killed and 38 injured.
- Nabatiyeh: nine killed and 14 injured.
- Mount Lebanon governorate, which includes Beirut's southern suburbs: two killed and 30 injured. Remains of unidentified bodies have also been recovered from the rubble of multiple strikes, and have yet to be identified by DNA testing, according to the Ministry.
- In the North Lebanon governorate, where the first deadly strike took place on Friday night in the Beddaoui Palestinian refugee camp, four people were killed. They were a Hamas executive, his wife and their two children.
The number of deaths in Israeli bombardments of Lebanon has risen to 2,059, and 9,755 since October 8, 2023, the date on which clashes between Israel and Hezbollah began in southern Lebanon, set up as a “support front” for Hamas in the wake of its Al-Aqsa storm operation.
