Yemeni Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for launching drones toward Tel Aviv, following reports of two drones being spotted overnight in central Israel. In a statement, the Houthis said the operation was conducted “in support of the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance.” The statement added, "The operation achieved its goals successfully as the drones reached their targets without the enemy being able to confront or shoot them down."

The Houthis praised “historic fighters” in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Iraq, and said they would “continue their military operations” until the “siege on Gaza is lifted and the aggression against Lebanon ends.”

The Israeli military said it intercepted "a suspicious aerial target" off central Israel overnight, without giving further details.

On Wednesday, the Houthis claimed to have fired cruise missiles at Israel, following Iran's mass bombardment of the country the night before.

Last week, the rebels said they fired a missile at Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv, prompting Israeli airstrikes on Yemen including the vital port of Hodeida.

Since November, the Houthi's have been attacking ships off Yemen's coast in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, which they deem support Israel, in what they say is a show of solidarity with Palestinians during the war in Gaza. They stated that they will continue their attacks until a cease-fire is reached in Gaza.
