Schools will open normally on Thursday, says Education Ministry

The Education Ministry said in a statement published Wednesday evening that public and private schools, as well as universities, will be open on Thursday, despite the second wave of communication device explosions that occurred on Wednesday, causing nine new deaths and over 300 injuries.

On Tuesday, the caretaker education minister, Abbas Halabi, announced that all Lebanese schools would be closed on Wednesday, following the first wave of simultaneous explosions of pagers carried by hundreds of Hezbollah members.

Israel has not yet commented on these explosions. The first wave on Tuesday resulted in nine deaths and nearly 2800 injuries, according to official Lebanese sources, but the party accused Israel of being responsible for it.
