BEIRUT — At least eight people were wounded between Saturday evening and Sunday in a series of Israeli strikes across Lebanon, particularly in the Baalbeck-Hermel governorate and southern regions.

On Saturday evening, Israeli forces conducted multiple attacks, targeting the Hosh al-Sayyed Ali area near the Lebanese-Syrian border and the Sarein plain near Dhour al-Ayroun with highly explosive missiles.

In South Lebanon, numerous airstrikes after 8 p.m. struck homes in the towns of Shihine, Taybeh and Kfar Kila. For the first time, Israeli drones hit Sarafand (Saida), targeting an empty room in an orchard. Additional airstrikes hit a house in Aitaroun and another in al-Jbeen, while illuminating flares were dropped over the Bab Thaniya area. After 10:30 p.m., more than 10 artillery shells hit the outskirts of Shebaa, and incendiary bombs were launched at the Talat al-Raheb forest in Aita al-Shaab.

On Sunday morning, Israeli artillery shelling targeted the outskirts of Shebaa, Kfar Hammam, and Rab al-Thalateen, injuring two people in Odaisseh. Additional shelling hit homes in Alma al-Shaab and other areas in the Marjayoun and Bint Jbeil districts. Israeli aircraft fired at least six missiles at Mahmoudieh, near the southern border of the village of Aaishieh in the Jezzine district, residents told our correspondent.

The Public Health Ministry's Emergency Operations Center reported eight injuries: four from an attack on the town of al-Kawakh and four others from the Odaisseh attack. Three of the injured required hospitalization.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah announced two drone attacks targeting Israeli positions. One strike hit a technical system in al-Malikia, opposite the Lebanese village of Aitaroun (Bint Jbeil), and another targeted soldiers in Metula, opposite Lebanese Kfar Kila (Marjayoun). Hezbollah also claimed responsibility for an attack on "spy equipment" in Rouwaissat al-Alam using a guided missile. Israeli airstrikes targeted Rashaya al-Foukhar in the Hasbaya district with three missiles, causing a major fire.

At 4:05 p.m., Hezbollah claimed responsibility for an attack on Israeli positions in Zaoura, northern Israel, opposite the Lebanese village of Mhaybib (Marjayoun). Simultaneously, sirens were activated in northern Israeli settlements near the border, reported Haaretz.

Hezbollah announced another guided-missile attack at 5:15 p.m., targeting and destroying spy equipment in Ramiya, opposite the Lebanese town of Ramaya, in the Bint Jbeil district. The party also claimed that it attacked the Sammaka site in the disputed Kfar Shuba hills at 5:30 p.m.

'Whatever it takes'

Throughout the day, several Hezbollah officials delivered speeches during various ceremonies, emphasizing the group's commitment to supporting Gaza, stating that the resistance will continue regardless of Israeli actions. MP Hasan Ezzeddine stated the party's recent achievements pose a "strategic and existential threat" to Israel.

Meanwhile, during a cabinet meeting in Jerusalem, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said the situation on Israel's northern border "cannot continue" and called for a "change in the balance of power" along Israel's northern border.

Netanyahu added that Israel will do "whatever it takes" to allow its residents to return home safely.

"To all residents and displaced people in tents and shelters, Hezbollah is using your area to conduct operations. You are urged to evacuate your houses immediately and move West of Khiam. You have until 4:00 p.m. to move," the leaflet read.

The operation was later described as "an independent initiative," not endorsed by the military command or the political authorities.

Since Oct. 8, Hezbollah has engaged in near-daily cross-border exchanges of fire with the Israeli army in support of its Palestinian ally in Gaza, Hamas.
