The Lebanese Health Ministry released its latest report Wednesday on the clashes between Hezbollah and Israel that have been ongoing since Oct. 8, 2023, along the border between southern Lebanon and northern Israel.
The figures, based on information from hospitals up to and including Aug. 13, report a total of 2,312 casualties, including 547 deaths. Of this total, 641 people were hospitalized.
The ministry's data indicate that 84% of the casualties are men and 93% are Lebanese nationals.
Among the Lebanese casualties, 54% were aged between 25 and 44 years, showing slight variations from previous reports.
Of the injured, 43% suffered trauma from Israeli bombardments, 32% were injured by explosions, and 15% were exposed to chemicals, with no significant changes from earlier updates.
According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the number of displaced people from the border region since Oct. 8 is 102,523.
L'Orient Today's count recorded 409 Hezbollah fighters killed by Israel since Oct. 8, 2023, in Lebanon and Syria, including 367 in Lebanon.
