BEIRUT — The Media Affairs Office of the General Directorate of General Security issued an alert Tuesday warning about "recent scam attempts targeting both military personnel and civilians."

According to the announcement, "individuals have been receiving suspicious WhatsApp and SMS messages prompting them to click on links offering work-from-home opportunities in exchange for money."

The General Directorate advises "against engaging with these messages and recommends blocking the sender's number immediately."

This precaution aims to prevent potential "phone hacking and exploitation." Authorities urged the public to remain "vigilant and avoid falling victim to such fraudulent schemes."
