An unexploded missile has landed in North Lebanon's Zgharta district, according to residents and security sources, reported our correspondent, Michel Hallak.
The missile was discovered Friday evening a little after 11:00 p.m. between Miriata and Terbol.
It remains unclear whether the missile is a Syrian interceptor or an Israeli projectile, pending an official statement from the army. The incident coincided with an Israeli strike on the al-Shayrat airbase in Syria's Homs province.
The Lebanese Army has established a security cordon at the site.
A military spokesperson contacted by L'Orient-Le Jour on Friday could not provide additional details about the missile. The device is expected to be dismantled soon to determine its origin.
