The press office of the Ministry of Energy and Water denied on Tuesday any intention to ration fuel sales in Lebanon.

The ministry referred to a brief statement attributed to it, which announced upcoming measures to limit the operating hours of gas stations and the quantities of gasoline sold to each vehicle.

The ministry "denies having issued any statement regarding restrictive measures to be taken in the coming days, concerning the operating hours of gas stations and the number of liters that can be purchased per vehicle." It added that the quantities of "all petroleum derivatives are available on the Lebanese market with the usual quality, official prices, and necessary quantities." This assertion was confirmed by the president of the Association of Petroleum Importing Companies (APIC), Maroun Shammas, who assured that imports are proceeding "normally," despite uncertainties related to the regional context and the renewed tensions between Iran and Israel.

The ministry also urged those concerned to exercise caution when publishing such information and to refer to relevant official sources for verification before publishing.

In a second statement, the ministry released updated prices for major fuels regulated in the country.

Here are the new prices provided on Tuesday:

– 20 liters of 95-octane gasoline: LL1,601,000 (-LL10,000 compared to the schedule published on Friday)

– 20 liters of 98-octane gasoline: LL1,640,000 LL (-LL10,000)
