Fuel prices rise after Lebanese lira drops on the parallel market

BEIRUT — The Energy Ministry announced a significant increase in fuel prices Saturday.

This increase is linked to the sharp depreciation of the Lebanese lira to the dollar on the parallel market, once again plunging to approximately LL92,000 to the greenback.

Here are the new prices:

• Twenty liters of 95-octane gasoline: LL1,677,000, up by LL63,000

• Twenty liters of 98-octane gasoline: LL1,717,000, up by LL64,000

• Twenty liters of diesel: LL1,592,000, up by LL60,000

• The price of a cylinder of domestic propane: LL1,137,000, up by LL43,000

• Kiloliter of fuel oil (used to supply private generators): $799.95, unchanged.
