BEIRUT — Three Syrian children drowned on Friday in a canal in al-Qaa, in the Bekaa Valley, L'Orient Today's correspondent in the region reported and the local mayor told AFP.
The children, who lived in the al-Qaa refugee camp, drowned after the waterway overflowed due to stormy weather in recent days.
According to the state-run National News Agency, the children were two brothers and another child under 10 years old.
The Civil Defense reportedly transported their remains to the Government Hospital of Hermel.
A six-year-old child was found dead in late December after drowning in a pool of water near his family home in the village of Safinet al-Kaytaa, in northern Lebanon's Akka governorate..
