BEIRUT — Two masked suspects robbed and beat a man in front of a Bank Audi branch in Chtoura, Bekaa on Thursday, stealing about $50,000 from him, L’Orient Today’s correspondent reported.
The incident took place in a street that has several banks and is known as a street with a local gold market, which has commercial traffic and is frequented by citizens on a daily basis. A security source confirmed the robbery and the amount that was stolen.
The Lebanese banking sector imposed illegal restrictions on depositors’ accounts since the economic crisis unfolded in 2019.
