BEIRUT — An armed family feud left one person dead on Monday night in Tripoli's Abi Samra neighborhood, an army spokesperson told L'Orient Today on Tuesday.

Security forces arrived at the scene and opened an investigation into the incident, and are currently working to track down the shooter who allegedly killed his relative, according to the army spokesperson. He did not give further information.

According to our correspondents in the region, the suspect allegedly shot his pregnant sister's husband. Following the shooting, the wounded man was transported to a nearby hospital where he died shortly afterward.

This weekend, two areas in Lebanon — Tripoli and Saida’s Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp — were shaken by security unrest. On Friday, clashes in Tripoli killed four people, including two brothers and the shop's owner, and injured another person. Military-grade weapons were reportedly used during the altercation at the cell phone shop in the al-Tal neighborhood.

The next day, in the Palestinian camp of Ain al-Hilweh, near Saida, rival clans clashed with one another using assault weapons, leaving seven people injured.
