BEIRUT — The General Secretariat of the Lebanese Parliament on Wednesday denied the accusations made by Forces of Change MP Cynthia Zarazir, who claimed that, after being insulted during Tuesday’s Parliament session, she had found erotic magazines in her office and that she had not been given a parking space at Parliament.

Here’s what we know:

    • In a press release, Parliament referred to Zarazir’s statements as "totally untrue.” The statement continued, “The general secretariat and its employees do not make any distinction between deputies … since their first day in Parliament, Ms. Zarazir and her colleagues obtained everything that other MPs can benefit from, whether it’s a parking space, a private office,” adding that Zarazir should not give in to “populism.”

    • Yesterday, local media reported that Amal Movement’s MP Qabalan Qabalan amid rising tensions in Parliament, described Zarazir as “Sarasir” (cockroaches) , a reference to her family name .

    • Parliament did not go into the details of the accusations of the MP who has also criticized on Tuesday the machismo of the deputies and the intimidation attempts which targeted her.
