BEIRUT — A fire in the Ain al-Dahab area of Akkar in North Lebanon was extinguished on Tuesday by the Darb Akkar environmental organization alongside the municipality's rescue team and residents of the area, our correspondent in North Lebanon reported.
Here’s what we know:
• According to L’Orient Today’s correspondent, the teams managed to extinguish the fire using small vehicles in spite of the rugged terrain, agricultural terrain through which it was spreading.
• Many wildfires occur each year in Lebanon, especially during the summer and autumn months, and are oftentimes man-made, according to caretaker Environment Minister Nasser Yassin. There have already been several fires around the country this month, particularly in Akkar.
