BEIRUT — The open strike of the state-owned National News Agency began Friday, after holding a strike last week, which did not meet their demands, according to a statement by the state-owned NNA.
Here’s what we know:
• The NNA said in a statement it “regrets to announce the start of the open strike since Friday morning,” adding, “perhaps our silence will be more eloquent than our voice.”
• After acknowledging Minister of Information Ziad Makari for his sincere efforts in trying to rescue its workers from their "deteriorating and miserable conditions,” it also acknowledged Director General of the Ministry, Hassan Falha, for his efforts.
• It reiterating that it was forced to strike due to the "growing mountain of difficulties" that the NNA’s team is undergoing.
• The statement also said, “we renew our apologies to all those whose voice and activity will be withheld by virtue of the strike,” adding, “we remain armed with the belief in a better tomorrow," that incorporates solutions for employees to go back to their offices, as well as solutions to the entire public sector.
