BEIRUT — Caretaker Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi on Friday called on governors across Lebanon to arrange the removal of campaign advertisements and posters in their areas.
Here’s what we know:
• Mawlawi urged governors to task officials within their jurisdictions to immediately remove all election-related advertisements, posters and banners along with candidates’ pictures from roads, walls, utility poles, trees and traffic lights.
• The Civil Defense and the municipal guard in Beirut have begun to remove such advertisements and posters in the city.
