BEIRUT – A dispute between several members of Bedouin tribes in Saida on Wednesday caused the death of a woman, who was stabbed, and several other injuries, reports our correspondent in the region.
Here’s what we know:
• As a result of these tensions, the cause of which has not been clarified, a woman was stabbed near the Zaatari mosque and quickly succumbed to her injuries.
• The attacker then fired a gun into the air before fleeing. Medical personnel from the Red Cross transferred the victim to the Saida governmental hospital. Security forces opened an investigation.
• The state-run National News Agency reported that an individual dispute near the Zaatari mosque had resulted in an exchange of gunfire, causing one injury.
• The dispute between members of the different tribes then led to aggression at the Saida Maritime Citadel, causing three stabbing injuries.
