BEIRUT — Lebanese state telecoms provider Ogero announced Wednesday that a technical error in its Jbeil station caused an interruption of services in the region and neighboring areas.
Here’s what we know:
• “An electrical failure occurred in the Jbeil station due to pressure on the generators, which led to the suspension of our services within the mentioned area and a number of neighboring areas,” the telecoms provider said on Twitter.
• The statement indicated that a technical team from Ogero had been deployed to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
• Ogero’s services have faced similar interruptions in numerous areas, which have been attributed to the increased load on diesel generators, issues with cables and theft of equipment.
