Iran received information that the United States, with the backing of some regional countries, was preparing to resume actions against Iran, the country's central military command said in a statement on Sunday, according to state media.
The military said that any U.S. attack would trigger sustained strikes on U.S. bases and interests in the region, the report added, warning that regional countries supporting U.S. aggression against Iran would be considered parties to the conflict.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump, who cut short his weekend at Camp David to return to the White House on Saturday night, told Fox News that he will soon decide whether to "blow up" the nation of Iran.
"Big things" may be happening soon, he said, adding that he is open to meeting with Iran's President Massoud Pezeshkian this week.
Trump said some Iranian leaders are "hiding like rats," without specifying who he was referring to. "Wiping Iran out, letting them rot economically, or making a deal. (...) They better behave."
Trump also confirmed the U.S. is in talks with the Houthis, in which both parties have agreed to not attack the other.
