The Mount Lebanon prosecutor’s office dismantled a suspected drug trafficking network last week that had allegedly been run from Belgium by a Belgian national of Palestinian origin, a security source told L’Orient-Le Jour on Monday.The latter is reported to have traveled to Lebanon more than once to coordinate the group’s clandestine activities, and, according to several media outlets, is currently outside Lebanese territory. The prosecutor general at the Court of Cassation, Ahmad Rami al-Hajj, is expected to assemble a legal file in order to request an international arrest warrant against him. According to our information, the presumed head of the network also leads a company that specializes in event planning.
