BEIRUT — Israeli attacks by drone, artillery fire and ground incursions continued Friday in southern Lebanon, sparing neither civilians nor the Lebanese Army. This new day of violence comes just after the seventh round of Lebanese-Israeli negotiations in Rome, which ended with no progress or announcement of concrete measures. Launched in April, the talks aim to end hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel and enable the implementation of the cease-fire enacted on Nov. 27, 2025, which Israel has regularly violated since.
"A soldier was slightly wounded following an Israeli attack that targeted an army bulldozer in the town of Mansouri as it was opening roads and clearing debris," the Lebanese Army announced on its X account.
According to our southern Lebanon correspondent, an Israeli drone dropped a stun grenade on the bulldozer as it was trying to reopen a road in the village in the Sour district, which had been heavily bombarded by the Israeli army the day before. The wounded soldier was evacuated to a hospital, according to the same source. This is not the first incident targeting the Lebanese Army. In July, soldiers had already come under Israeli fire during their deployment in Zawtar Gharbieh, an operation that had been coordinated as part of discussions between Beirut and Tel Aviv.
Mansouri remained under Israeli fire throughout the day after receiving an evacuation order Thursday. In the morning, a stun grenade was once again thrown at the village, while Israeli artillery bombed Wadi Zibqin, also in the Sour district. Two other strikes subsequently targeted Mansouri.
By midday, Israeli soldiers opened fire with medium-caliber machine guns toward Beit Yahoun (Bint Jbeil district), then fired sweeping shots from Haddatha toward the outskirts of Aita al-Jabal, in the same district. The shelling intensified late in the afternoon. Artillery shells hit the Sawan neighborhood on the outskirts of Houla (Marjayoun district). In Zawtar Sharqieh (Nabatieh), a powerful explosion caused by occupation forces occurred near the mosque district. Israeli artillery also struck the outskirts of Mayfadoun, in the same district.
At dawn, the Israeli army had already carried out a significant demolition in Haddatha. The explosion was heard in several neighboring villages as well as in Sour, where flames were visible from afar.
