The Tourism Ministry reiterated in a circular issued on Monday that all bars and night clubs should prohibit the entry of persons under the age of 18 and asked tourism establishments to refrain from serving any alcoholic beverage to minors, according to the state-run National News Agency.
"All tourism establishments that serve food and beverages, regardless of their category, are requested to refrain from serving, selling, or delivering any alcoholic beverage to any person under the age of 18, under penalty of appropriate legal and administrative measures being taken against the violating establishment, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations," reads the statement.
"The entry of persons of both sexes under the 18 into nightclubs, dance halls, bars, and night clubs is also prohibited, whether by day or night," the Ministry added.
The Ministry noted that "any violation of the provisions of this circular shall expose the offender to prosecution and administrative measures ... including the issuance of violation reports and the proposal of appropriate penalties where necessary."
It is legally forbidden for people under the age of 18 to enter night clubs and pubs in Lebanon and for establishments to serve alcohol.
