SOUTH LEBANON — The Lebanese Army said Wednesday that the Israeli drone strike on Deir Zahrani, which damaged one of its vehicles earlier in the morning, was a "deliberate targeting" and reported two wounded.
In a brief statement, the army said this attack, which "is part of the deliberate targeting of army soldiers, its vehicles and positions," injured an officer and a soldier. It also condemned the "systematic attacks" by Israel that aim to "force residents to leave their towns and villages, highlighting the real objectives behind the escalation."
Several Lebanese soldiers have been killed in Israeli strikes since the resumption of war in southern Lebanon, notably in drone strikes on roads in the South. The body of a soldier was found Wednesday after a drone attack on Nabatieh al-Fawqa.
