Israel has intensified its attacks on Gaza despite the "cease-fire," killing at least four people on Sunday, according to the enclave's Civil Defense, as reported by Reuters.
Rescue workers said an Israeli strike killed a Palestinian near a police station in Khan Yunis, while the Israeli military claimed to have shot a militant "in the south of the Gaza Strip."
In addition, another Israeli airstrike killed at least three people in a community canteen near al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah, in the center of the besieged territory.
In a statement, the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported six further people killed and 19 injured recorded in the last 48 hours.
Among them, two people were killed by Israeli attacks carried out during this period, whilst the bodies of four people were found under the rubble of buildings destroyed by earlier bombardments.
Since the start of the nominal "cease-fire" in Gaza which came into effect on Oct. 11, 2025, Israeli attacks have killed at least 871 people and injured a further 2,562, according to health authorities in the Palestinian enclave.
Authorities have also recovered 776 bodies from the rubble, bringing the number of new deaths recorded since that date to 1,647.
In total, Israel has killed at least 72,763 Palestinians and injured 172,664 others since the start of its genocidal offensive against the Gaza Strip, launched on Oct. 7, 2023, following the Hamas-led operation against Israel.
The ministry specifies that many people who are missing remain buried under the rubble or in areas that are inaccessible. Palestinian Civil Defense teams remain unable to operate in much of the Gaza Strip, nearly 60% of whose territory is occupied by the Israeli army behind the "yellow line" it has imposed de facto in the besieged enclave.
Israel and Hamas remain at an impasse in indirect talks aimed at advancing U.S. President Donald Trump's postwar plan for Gaza.
