A Paris investigating judge will look into a complaint against Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman regarding the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was murdered in 2018 at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, sources told AFP on Saturday.
"An investigating judge from the unit for crimes against humanity will now handle the complaint [from the organizations] Trial International and Reporters Without Borders," for torture and enforced disappearances, the national anti-terrorism prosecutor's office confirmed to AFP.
Saudi Arabia faced strong criticism after the murder of the dissident journalist, with U.S. intelligence agencies directly implicating Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman. The kingdom has since regained its standing within the international community.
