For about ten days, Leyla Bouzid, director of "À voix basse," accompanied the screenings of her film in Tunis, in Cap Bon, and in the north of the country. In contrast to the repressive climate targeting the LGBTQ+ community in Tunisia, the reception has been largely positive, fueled by the discussions that followed the screenings."These were, of course, screenings organized by film clubs, with an audience already somewhat sensitized," the director clarifies. "But the debates spark a lot of questions. Some love scenes make people uncomfortable, so I explain why they were necessary in the film.
