Noor al-Yacoubi is a 27-year-old media coordinator at a local research center, translator and writer. She hasn't left the Gaza Strip since the war began on Oct. 7, 2023, and has been sharing reflections on her life with L'Orient Today since the beginning of the war in Gaza and following the cease-fire.In a small displacement tent in central Gaza, with no electricity and barely any ventilation, 36-year-old Shireen al-Kurdi has built something that feels almost out of place — something soft, colorful, and full of life.
