Former Bank Audi chairman Samir Hanna was questioned for a second time on Wednesday by the assistant public prosecutor at the Court of Cassations, Ahmad Rami al-Hajj, in a financial case linking him to former Banque du Liban (BDL, central bank) Governor Riad Salameh over alleged illicit enrichment.The investigation stems from a complaint filed in January by the central bank, represented by its current governor, Karim Souhaid, who said at a press conference that the case targeted “a former BDL official” and “a former banker” whose identities he did not disclose.Both men are suspected of illicit enrichment through the alleged diversion of BDL funds via four offshore companies in the Cayman Islands.Accompanied by his lawyer, Akram Azoury, Hanna was released but remains under investigation, pending his next interrogation scheduled for April...
