BEIRUT — Hezbollah claimed an attack on Ashdod, coastal Israel, located 150 kilometers from Lebanon's southern border.
Warning sirens sounded at dawn there, according to local media, which did not report any damage.
This is the first such long-range attack that the party claims since its war with Israel resumed on March 2.
In a statement, Hezbollah said it had targeted the Ashdod port naval base "with precision missiles" at 1 a.m.
In a series of other statements, Hezbollah claimed responsibility since this morning for several rocket and exploding drone attacks on army positions and settlements in northern Israel, which notably caused damage in Misgav Am, according to Israeli media.
