Israeli strikes in Iran, fire towards Israel
Explosions have been heard in Tehran and its outskirts, according to Iranian media.
"A short time ago, Israeli forces conducted a wave of airstrikes targeting the infrastructure of the Iranian terrorist regime in Tehran and other regions of Iran," the Israeli military announced on Telegram.
At the same time, the Israeli military reported that its air defenses had been activated to intercept missiles coming from Iran.
Trump threatens to destroy Iran
The American president says that he is ready to destroy "the entire" Iran ... in a single night if the ultimatum he has set for Tehran expires without results, Tuesday at 8 p.m. (12:00 a.m. GMT).
The United States could destroy "in four hours" the country's bridges and power plants. Iranians are "ready to suffer for freedom," Trump believes.
"The crude and arrogant rhetoric" of President Trump "has no effect on the continuation of the offensive and the overwhelming operations" of the Iranian army, a representative of the Islamic Republic replied.
The Iranian army spokesperson, for his part, promised that his country would continue to fight "as long as the political leaders deem it appropriate." "
The enemy must surely regret [the outbreak of hostilities] so that after this conflict we can regain security and avoid a new war," said Mohammad Akraminia, quoted by the Iranian news agency ISNA.
Iran has also rejected a cease-fire proposal with the United States and Israel, brought forward by Pakistan's mediation efforts, according to the government news agency Irna, which did not provide a source. Trump, for his part, called the initiative a "very significant step" but considered it "not yet good enough to support."

Tokyo also announced Tuesday the release of a second Japanese national detained in Iran, with the Kyodo news agency indicating that it was "likely" the head of the Tehran bureau of the Japanese public television channel NHK.
Residents of 40 villages in southern Lebanon ordered by Israel to evacuate
Easter Monday was as violent for the Lebanese as the previous Sunday, as Israel continued its bombardment of the southern suburbs of Beirut, southern Lebanon, and the Bekaa, our correspondents reported.
On Monday evening, the populations of more than 40 villages in southern Lebanon were again ordered by the Israeli army to evacuate their homes in anticipation of a new wave of massive strikes. Some of these villages are located north of the Litani River, where earlier in the day the Israeli army had ordered residents to leave by dropping leaflets over the area.
According to our correspondent, this time at least two Christian villages were named in an evacuation order for the first time: Addousieh, south of Saida, and Kfour, in Nabatieh.
After this order, the Israeli army carried out artillery fire in the area between Khiam and Ibl al-Saqi (Marjayoun). A drone strike targeted Mayfadoun (Nabatieh), while an air strike targeted a house in Tayr Debba (Sour), on the main road, near the stadium.

Israeli strikes on an Iranian petrochemical site
Israel has said it carried out strikes on the largest petrochemical complex in southern Iran, "a key target accounting for about half of the country's petrochemical production," while Tehran for its part said the situation was "under control" but the extent of the damage still needed to be assessed.
The Assaluyeh gas complex, in southern Iran, is located on the edge of the vast South Pars gas field, shared between Iran and Qatar. The Fars news agency also reported that another petrochemical complex, this time near Shiraz (south-central Iran), was targeted by strikes, mentioning "minor damage."
