Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Sunday called for Israeli "attacks on health facilities to stop immediately" in Lebanon.
An Israeli strike on an ambulance affiliated with Hezbollah's emergency service killed two rescuers in Bint Jbeil, according to our correspondent in southern Lebanon, after nine other rescuers were killed on Saturday.
The Health Ministry, for its part, reported one ambulance worker killed during the day on Sunday, bringing the total number of rescuers and health care workers killed by Israel since the beginning of the war to 52.
"Attacks on health facilities must stop immediately. This cannot become the norm. Health care workers are protected by international humanitarian law and must not be targeted," the WHO chief said in a post on his X account.
