Fuel prices rose again in Lebanon on Tuesday as the regional war pushes global oil prices higher. The Energy Ministry announced new rates showing a significant rise in fuel costs, with the price of heating oil going up by more than $300.
Here are the new rates:
– 20 liters of 95-octane gasoline: 2,314,000 Lebanese liras, an increase of LL25,000 from the last rate published last Friday.
– 20 liters of 98-octane gasoline: LL2,355,000 (LL+25,000).
– 20 liters of diesel (for vehicles): LL2,194,000 (LL+72,000).
– Kiloliter of heating oil (used to supply private power generators): $1,139.02 (+$300.73 compared with Tuesday's rate).
– Household gas cylinder: LL1,840,000 (LL+37,000 compared to the rate on Tuesday, March 10; gas prices are updated each week).
The rise in fuel prices occurs as concerns about a price spike grow due to oil price fluctuations caused by disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
